This coming October 22-25, the Rustavi Sports Palace in the Georgian city of Rustavi will host the U20 Women’s European Championship first-round qualifier organised by the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA).

As a Zonal Association operating under the umbrella of the FIVB and CEV, EEVZA plays an important role in promoting and developing Volleyball across the Eastern European region while supporting the organisation of international competitions with a primary focus on age-group events. Six national teams will arrive in Georgia on October 21, with their first training sessions scheduled for the same day at the Rustavi Sports Palace.

The Georgian U20 women’s national team will be among the teams competing for a place at the next European Championship. Georgia is scheduled to play its matches on October 22, 23 and 24, with each game starting at 20:30 local time. The tournament will conclude on October 25 with the final classification matches, determining the overall standings.

The event will bring together some of the region’s most promising young Volleyball talents, providing them with an important opportunity to compete at the international level and secure qualification (which goes to the eventual winners) for the U20 Women’s European Championship scheduled for the summer of 2027 in Italy and Malta.
